Economy
Osaka's GDP can be broken down into four main groups which gives it a good industrial structure. These four groups are Chemicals, General machinery, Electronics (Electrical appliances, telecommunication equipment and elctronic components and devices) and metal products. Osaka's global-scale economy accounts for 15% of Japan's GDP. Some of the main tourism attractions for Osaka is their Aquarium, 112 metre high ferris wheel and Osaka castle.
Poverty
The city of Osaka has very little or no poverty in it, but there is a place a short train ride away called Kamagasaki that is according to guardian news "Japan's biggest slum." Kamagasaki isn't found on any official maps, Osaka politicians try to hide this place of poor extreme poverty. In June 2008 there was rallied outbursts which consistedof accusations of brutal police behaviour towards local residents broke out. In 2008 Kamagasaki was home to 25,00 people and of which an estimated 1,300 people were homeless or 5.2% of people or 1 person in every 19 people was homeless. These homeless people work tough jobs (if they get a job at all) and require it to pay for a cheap hotel and food and unfortunately, alchohol.
